Harvard Business Conference

Socialnetwork_2
Harvard Business School Association of Orange County (HBSAOC) had its annual conference in Anaheim, CA yesterday. Among the presentations, the two that I enjoyed the most were 'Ten Trends in Technology' by Dave Berkus, and 'Marketing in a Web 2.0 World' by panelists Michael Parker, Brian Dunn, Chris Messina, Patrick Chanezon, with moderator David Bailey.

I especially liked Patrick Chanezon, the API 'evangelist' for Google, and Chris Messina, Open Source Advocate and Project Instigator for Vidoop. Charezon eloquently spoke about Open Social, whereas Messina couldn't have been more clear about Open Source.

Dave Berkus had a few great, yet poignant quotes by Yogi Berra in his presentation that forced you to think seriously. Here are some:

"It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future."
"You can observe a lot just by watching."
"The future ain't what it used to be."
Dave also managed to tell us that the CIO is now embraced as a business strategist, what we can look forward to in Web 3.0 & 4.0 over the next decade, taking advantage of mobility as a corporate strategy, and my favorite, wireless power! Yes, wireless recharging of devices and wireless power through the air.

His presentation can be accessed here. Patrick Chanezon's work can be followed on his blog. And you can literally follow Chris Messina on Twitter.
